- June 26, 2005 - Site still online, but nore more updates
- As per the news post below, this site is only here for archival purposes now. To show what kind of websites I've made in the past, and to kind of look back and reminisce about the cars we were so obcessed with. All the content for my 95 SE V6 Coupe is still here, especially the supercharger info. I STILL get emails about the s/c even today! Sorry, but I won't be doing any more updates to this site, and what you see is what you get. Feel free to email me techie questions though... but please read everything you can find first - most of the questions I get are already answered on my site. Thanks!

- Sept 13, 2002 - Site Going Down... Maybe...
- Friday the 13th. How fitting for Jason's Camry Site to be dying today. Yes, the rumors are true. I am selling my Camry in order to get a Mazda Miata. Please don't try to convince me to buy your ideal car - I've already made the decision and have a specific vehicle picked out, I just need to get the financing taken care of. I spent the better part of the day today replacing some broken parts (trim & clips and driverside cv joints) and removing all the aftermarket (sub/amp, springs, lights & stickers) from my car. I still need to remove the supercharger as well as my head unit, but the head unit will only take 20 minutes to swap out w/ a stock one, and since I NEED my tunes, the head will stay till the first day I show the car to a potential buyer.
As for this site... I'm not sure what to do with it yet. One person offered hosting services for me... First off, this site takes up over a GIGABYTE of drive space. Second, I honestly don't know what the bandwidth demands are. And third, I don't really have the desire to maintain the site like I used to. I am more than willing to share the FAQ type info for someone to host - that's only a few hundred KB. Or I might just take the main camry site offline and leave only factual info available to the web. That wouldn't dent my bandwidth too much. Regardless, I am no longer accepting additional camrys and solaras for the galleries. Sorry! There are 2 or 3 people who sent me pictures that I never added, because I received them while I was in my interim decision-making period as to whether or not the site was getting the axe. Well now that I've made my decision, sorry, but no more updates.
So to sum it up... the site will not be updated anymore. Please don't email me asking me to put your car in the galleries. Please don't offer hosting services - I don't want to maintain the site anymore, and I don't want the content to have someone else's name on it. However, if you have pictures hosted on my server, I CAN zip and email your page to you, in order to have it hosted elsewhere, or at least so you have a backup copy of what was on my site - just email me if you want this done. The main gallery area will be going offline in the not too distant future, so image hosting will no longer work after that.
I am thinking I'll completely redesign gibson99.com to include a little about me, a section about the cars I've owned (in which my entire 95se page will remain intact, for the curious), my 88 camry, and the soon-to-be-mine 97 miata, and whatever else i feel is proper for the site.
Anyway, it's been fun while it lasted. Keep in touch, and keep the shiny side up!!

- More updates to the owner's gallery today. Added two cars but only one owner - Jim Harris. He sent in some immaculate pictures of his two white LE V6 Camrys, one a '96, and one an '02, filling the first slot on my gen5 section. Check em out!

- WOW... passed 10,000 hits while I wasn't looking. I bought a domain name tonight, and it will begin propgating in the morning so I should have a spiffy domain name soon. Did some updates for the holiday - Made a news archive section, updated the owner's gallery, too. Added Harmer (Gen2), Shawn (Gen3), Alex-czrcamry (gen3), and updated Alex W (gen3). Keep em coming folks!

- Finally back online! It feels so good... I posted this fact to camryman's site and told a few people on AIM and ICQ... and the hits just started pouring in. I hope the site's not too slow for everyone, but I'm glad I'm finally back online. I have a static IP now, so I'll be buying a real domain name in the next few weeks. If you have the old gibsonfamily.dhs.org address bookmarked, delete it. It's no good anymore. I'll let everyone know when I have a real domain name instead of my numeric IP address I'm at right now.
