August 13, 2008 Website is back up again, and strangely enough, it just happens to be exactly a year after the news posting below announcing that we were moving then... This time we're already moved, and we're getting unpacked and getting everything set up again. If you don't already have it, email one of us to get our new address. Our phone numbers did not change, even though we're in a different county, because they're cell phones and we're still in the same area code. |
August 13, 2007 The website will be going down for scheduled maintenance (new CPU fans) and a move (we're moving!) starting Friday August 17th, and might be back up as soon as Saturday the 18th, but could be as late as Tuesday the 21st. Don't be surprised if you try to get to our site this weekend and it's down. |

May 18, 2006 It's a boy! Jeff & Mary had a baby boy on May 17, 2006 at about 9pm eastern time. They haven't chosen a name yet, but are leaning towards Luke. We have baby pictures from the hospital, and as I receive more photos, they'll show up at the above link, or in Jeff's section at the left, and will be organized by date. |
April 20, 2006 We finally have a wedding date. On October 28, 2006, Dian and I will be getting married at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. We can't wait! |
April 15, 2006
If you are receiving spam claiming to come from gibson99.com, don't believe it! Starting on Saturday April 14th, I started getting tons of bounced emails that I never sent. Every single one of them was some BS stock market spam. Right now, there's only ONE valid email address you should ever get "From:" anything that ends in @gibson99.com - but I'm not going to say what it is, lest the spammers read this and start abusing it. I'd like to keep this email address that I paid for! I will say that it's a real name, and a common name - nothing obscure or unusual. It's a very common English name. I say this because most of the bounces I see are coming from nonsense account names like "vwfhu" "asdf" and "sdifu" - just random keypresses. Please don't set your email filters to block anything from me - instead, use a proper filter like SpamCop and SpamAsassin to block the actual sender's IP address. Be sure to check out Spam Primer or just Google stop spam. For the curious, there IS a term for what's happenning to me - it's called being Joe Jobbed. Google that if you like - there's loads of hits on it. And for the loving folks who are spamming using my good name, just pray to whatever Gods you worship that I never meet you. It won't be pretty. And if you DO get any of this spam, DON'T BUY ANYTHING! If nobody buys things from spammers, then the spammers will go away, since it will no longer be worth their time to spam everyone. |
April 2, 2006 I'm engaged! On April 1st, 2006, Dian told me "of course I'll marry you" when I asked her if she would. Our engagement is not an April Fools' joke, though the beginning of the way I proposed to her started off that way. read more... Before anyone asks, we do NOT have a wedding date yet! The church is making us jump through a few hoops first, to help us make sure it's really the right thing to do. I have no problem with this, though Dian is a little impatient. As soon as we have a date, I'll let everyone know! |
April 2, 2006 - Part 2
Not to take away from the big engagement news, I put other updates down here...Justin's section has grown to include a bunch more pictures, including his 2nd birthday party. Sorry for the poor formatting of the directories, but it works, for the most part... Jeff & Mary's Wedding photos - Yes, they got married in September, and the pics have actually been online for a while, but I never announced them here. Sorry! CameraPhonePix - Curious what I take pictures of? In here, you'll see pictures of everything ranging from broken car parts, a quick and dirty tour of the DeLorean shop, cats in weird sleeping positions, a jet engine heat blower, people making weird faces at the camera, cuts kids, "Cover Your Ass" pictures, and all sorts of other random things. Updated on a regular, "whenever the hell I feel like it" schedule. Eventually, I plan to update the entire site here to be built just like my carputer site. It does away with all these nasty tables I've been using for formatting (which isn't really the right way to do it, even though it seems to get the job done), and gets things into the 21st century with CSS and a much more efficient, effective, though not effortless, format. |
